wetland

Lacustrine Wetland at Lake Sherwood in Santa Monica MountainsLacustrine wetlands are less than 2 m deep, and can be any size. They exist along the margins of lakes and reservoirs, which are non-tidal water bodies at least 2 m (6 ft) deep during the growing season and at least 8 ha (20 ac) large. These wetlands can be temporarily inundated by deeper water if the inundation does not persist throughout most of the growing season.
